rememberbook.de is an open archive of art and sound. It invites people to share memories, voices, and found fragments. The project explores how sound, text, and place interact when memory transitions into a digital form. rememberbook/Do you remember your favourite children's song? is an initial processing of memories. For this work of transformation, the composer Gerhardt Müller-Goldboom was invited.
How can I participate?
You can upload your own sound recordings via the platform.
Each submission becomes part of the growing collection.
Do I have to be a good singer, and can I send more than one song?
Your contribution should be a cappella. You don’t have to be a professional singer to take part. We are interested in your memory of your favorite childhood song — or simply a song from your early years. You may sing just one verse or hum the melody — however you like.
Since you can always listen to your recording before submitting it, you may re-record and replace it as often as you wish.
What is it about?
We want to create a polyphonic work of sound and memory with voices from around the world.
Who curates rememberbook?
The project was initiated by Norbert Wartig and is being further developed in collaboration with
the composer Gerhardt Müller-Goldboom (for rememberbook/Do you remember your favourite children's song?).
Will there be any interim results
Every two months we will try to present some results here under about. Sometimes they will appear fragmentary,
sometimes more orchestral — depending on the number and variety of voice samples submitted.
What happens to the submitted contributions?
All contributions are archived, reviewed editorially, and may be used in artistic sound compositions.
How is data protection handled?
All submissions are processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.
